Maybe "ignition", a source that is only "hot" in the ignition position.
Maybe a pigtail on the coil side of the ballast??
Positive side of coil is only 9v running.

If it has tits, it's a liabilititty.
Just find a switched fuse in the fuse box and piggy off of it. There are open male spades on a few to hook to.
