Hello, my son and I are restoring a 73 dart swinger. We are swapping out the stock intake and 2 barrel with an Edelbrock Performer Intake and an Edelbrock 600 carb. Can I do away with the vacuum amplifier?

No, not really since there are a few things that work off of it. Just make longer vacuum tubes and place it out of the way.
Restore would mean the reuse of the OE intake and carb.
What your doing is called "Restomodding it" making mods to a otherwise restored looking car. As soon as you introduce a non stock aftermarket part like a carb, intake, valve covers etc... Your resto jst went to Shyst and it becomes a Rest-o-mod.
