Mild 360 engine rebuild recommendations

1989 was the first year for roller cam 360 block. Just picked up a 91 360 with 110,000 miles the other day. Haven't pulled it apart yet.

360 heads are open chambers. You cannot get any Squish/Quench out of that combination

I believe Jim Laroy has made north of 700HP without squish or quench. Not only that, but millions upon millions of engines came right out of Detroit without either and some were pretty dang hot. The 440 Six Pack Engine was but one of many examples. I'm not saying quench doesn't have benefits. I even have a quench built slant six on the stand. It's not the end all be all for making power, though and you shouldn't come across like it is. Maybe you should try helping people use what they actually have instead. Just a friendly suggestion.

Ok, cool. Thank you sir! My knowledge starts thinnin out the later model the engine is.....but then, my knowledge is pretty thin to start with. lol

If you can't get a 9.5 360 with a xe268H to run on pump gas, you need to turn in your man card. FFS
Milling of the heads will take care of that.
maybe not turn in your man card, but somebody should definitely take away your tools at that point.
To the both of your replies…

Your correct. My understanding is that the crate engines were .020 over for this reason. And Mother Mopar added cooling ports along both sides of the upper center head bolt boss...Mag'n the block is mandatory.
