I have recently helped my son do an engine swap in his 64 dart-haveing been able to work out the issues that arose going from a 64 170 to a 71 225 the only other problem i have is the manual 3 speed trans pops out of third gear when deceling unless you rest your hand on the column shifter.It didn't do that before.To me it doesnt seem like its going all the way into gear but during the engine swap we did not touch the shift linkage.I have re-bushed the trans lever ends of he links but still it pops out.The rods dont look bent and they are not hitting anything.I have tried adjusting the rod length but that just seems to throw the nuetral gate off.Any ideas?

Get a book and adjust the linkage; if that doesn't work, you have a bad sychronizer.

Welcome, this is a great site to stumble across.
travsdad: Welcome to FABO. If you've adjusted the linkage with no success, it does sound like a sychro problem. I had a four speed once did the same thing. Jumped out of second gear on deceleration. Sychros had a few teeth missing. I'm sure I don't know why. LOL
