NHL playoff!!

Ouch, that one hurt a bit. Now the Canucks have 2 must win games, or their little run is over and all the bandwagoners will be whining for the next year or so.

Go Canucks!

Now that's the Bruins I've been waiting to see!

Give that Staal kid a rough time, and he doesn't know which side is up. Chara really had him looking over his shoulder.

I'm surprised that there wasn't a penalty on Jokinen for that blatant slash on Chara's ankle. Typical European, gotta use the lumber disgust

And to think that I used to like Scotty Walker when he was a Canuck, what a low-life piece of crap he is. If he only gets one game, he'd best sit out game seven in Boston. I don't think he'll get a very warm reception.

It was a huge relief seeing the Bruin's play last night. I think they just needed to muster up some hate in order to play like they did w/ Montreal. It will def be an interesting next game!

That really was some kind of cheap shot by Walker, he should get a lengthy suspension for it but the league is so inconsistent who knows disgust

No suspension for Walker, just a $2500 fine, the one game was rescinded after it was determined not to be a sucker punch. You've got to be kidding, that wasn't a sucker punch? disgust

Up to Chara or Lucic to make things right

Inconsistent allright, especially the referees calls. You'll notice the refs let everything go in the last Nucks/Hawks game until the last 5 minutes and then called the Nucks on everything.

Not that I think theres a conspiracy. Just seems to me that if an NHL player eered that much,he'd be out of a job.

Some folks on the Nucks websight seem to think there is a a conspiracy to keep the cup in the States. They point out that Bettman is anti canadian, and NO canadian team has won the cup since he took over the NHL. They say he wants to keep the cup in the States to help the ailing NHL market there.

????????

I've always felt the refereeing in the NHL needs a shakedown. But I dont know about the rest.

No suspension?

You've got to be kidding!

That penalty alone, in the last five minutes, is an automatic one game suspension. How can it not be a sucker punch? Ward had his gloves on and his hands down. disgust

I sure wouldn't want to be Walker right now.

The Capitals are still alive in this thing! After a big win in the Pen's barn, it's on to the Phone Booth for Game 7 in DC! Who said the Southeast didn't play great hockey? It could very well end up being an all-Southeast Division Eastern Conference Finals. ROCKIN' THE RED in DC! Now it's time to UNLEASH THE FURY! LETS GO CAPS!

What can I say other than :cussing::cussing::cussing::cussing::cussing: :angryfir::angryfir::angryfir: Hawks deserved to win, a lot more poise despite being a much younger team. Canucks were terrible in their own end again, bad special teams, a waste of a great opportunity :angry7:

Good for the Caps though, a Bruins Caps matchup would be great.

There is no way that the Canucks deserved to win that game. They were awful. It's the first game that I've actually watched of this series, I listened to the rest. I shouldn't have bothered.

The defense was crap. Bieksa and Mitchell looked like minor leaguers at best. At least Edler was on his game.

Sundin must have forgot how to play in the playoffs, being stuck in TO for so long. You're supposed to stand in front of the goalie when your pointman is taking the shot, not get out of the way and let him see it all the way :angry7:. At least Wellwood did it right, once.

Sure, the reffing was terrible, but it's been that way for a while.

Take the man!!!!!!!!

Far too many times the defense was just waving their sticks at the Hawks forwards, and the Canucks forecheckers weren't pressuring the Hawks D nearly enough.

Bottom line, get rid of the Europeans ( I was gonna say Swedes, but Salo is a Finn) and the coach. Ohlund hasn't been the same since his eye injury. Salo gets hurt every other game. And the twins, too fancy, no drive. Cycle, cycle, cycle. How about driving to the net once in a while.

Eight Europeans out of 21 starters. Chicago has three. And Havlat plays almost like a Canadian.

And Vigneault was terribly out-coached. Coach-of-the-year, my butt, Luongo got him that award.

Sorry, rant over.

For the Canucks, anyway. :-D

referring seems to be one sided in a lot of the series if you ask me, they are letting an open season go on Ovechkin since the supposed intention knee injury as well as a lot of others. Betman what a pussy, hates like hell to see anything go to Canada. Why not let the Coyotes go to Canada if it saves the team, it's better than it just folding up. Chicago has the speed and a good goalie,( Canucks have a good goalie but he can't carry the team, they are done now anyway.) Washington is pretty good all around as is Detroit but Osgood is the better goalie. The Penguins have the whiner Crosby, Malkin and some others. Canes and Boston up in the air. All i can say is go Washington 1 game for another comeback.

Wow ,another squandered opportunity. At least the Nucks are consistent in getting blown out of round 2.

Dont get me wrong. I love my team. But whatever has been wrong in Van is still not fixed. It cant be the team or players, they have changed many times over the years as have the coaches.

Seems like whenever nucks dont make it, its time to dump the coach,g.m and players.

I think what they are lacking is heart or killer instinct. Perhaps they are too soft. All to often I see them gain a 3 goal lead and then think it's good enough. They try to sit on it and relax too much. Dont put in a full 60 minutes. And thats why I say they lack killer instinct and the ability to absolutely bury an opponent.

Or maybe Van goes bargain basement hunting too often when llooking for players. A friend of mine who plays a lot of hockey thinks they never get players who are star quality. 30+ goal scorers who can make a team and break an opponent.

Anyways,I cant make excuses for them. They sucked last night and that is that. They cracked under pressure.Thats why I think their not tough enough.

I really think they need to bring Trevor Linden back into the fold. Allthough he might not have been the most talented Canuck,he is by far the best Captain they ever had. Had enough heart for 3 men and had the ability to finish an opponent and break them.

Bring him back into management in one role or another and Im sure he can help.

dont worry the wings will take care of business tonight! im glad the hawks won just for the time zone, these 10pm games are killing me.

It's that time again. :toothy10:
