Normal 318 Engine Temps?

Cruising steadily at 55mpg the engine temp ranged from 190-210F in about 90 degree weather. Also, my belt was probably slipping this whole time as it just blew and I will replace it tomorrow but I was wondering what the base temp is for a 318?? Thanks!

depends on the tstat wouldnt it.?i run a 165*

Yeah, it depends on a lot of things like rpms at cruising speed etc..
However, I'm wondering what the normal operating temp is of a 318?

The stock thermostat is 195*'s so if the temp floats around in that area, your OK. Though I think 210 is a bit high. 200 would fall into normal.

Check that the rad. is clear and free flowing for air and inside for the coolent. Also, if the coolent is old, change it.
