I have a 76 duster that has been sittin around a couple of years. well i finaly got to working on it and tried to install the drive shaft that came with the car (the kid said it was from the car, but the car was a basket case when i bought it) the rear ujoints were too big so i ran the numbers on the rear end and came up with this: cast # 2852905 which is a 8.25 from a 69-70 B body. Is there a drive shaft out there that i can use? or do i need to have one custom made? If anyone has ran this rearend in an A body could you please help me out?

You could get by with what is known as a "conversion joint." This is a U joint that has two ends "one size" and two ends "another size." Assuming the driveshaft "was" correct, just has the smaller Mopar U joints, you should be able to get one that goes from the big/ to little common Mopar sized joints.

This is the "small" common Mopar joint, some numbers:

This is the "big" common Mopar joint:

This may be what you need:

I thought about using a conversion joint but didnt know if there was one out there that would work for me. I will see if i can find one online (Our local parts stores suck when it comes to looking up parts)

Double check the length on that driveshaft because your car could have had a 7.25 rearend from the factory so a driveshaft for a 8.25 rear will be the wrong length. If it's the right length you just need the U-joint in the last thread 67dart273 posted.

they made a 8.25 in 69/70??

i know this is an old post but im gona go ahead and update it...i found out i had a driveshaft for an 8 3/4 so i bought a conversion u joint till i find a 8 1/4 drive shaft

As long as you've got enough room at the transmission end of the driveshaft for the slip yoke to slide 5/8 to 3/4 of an inch, you should not really need another drive shaft. An 8 3/4 and an 8 1/4 will be the same distance from the transmission tailshaft, if that makes sense? If the one you have works and doesn't vibrate.....run the snot out of it!
