Ohio Crankshaft

Wondered if anyone's done business with these guys. Just shopping around for a balanced rotating assembly.
They show a forged 4.1" crank with 6.2" H beam rods.
Not much more than a forged 4" setup from Scat with I beams.

Think it's a typo or are those oddball crank and rod size for real?

Ohio Crankshaft is probably one of the oldest machine shops in the country. I've used their products a lot through the years and not had any problems.

What about that 4.1" crank. Even MORE piston speed......Wonder about longevity of the new "bigger than 4 inch" cranks.

Longevity!!!????!!!!????!!!!
It has been a concern for about the last 30+ years with stroker cranks. I have never read or heard a complaint. I have noticed this though!
Race engines last shorter than street hot rodder engine which last shorter than street engine which last even shorter than the ones that never start vs. the longest lasting museum static displays.

OHIO Crankshafts=very good!!! One time supplier of MP stroker cranks before Eagle; 6.2 rod length just to soften rod angularity a little, calls for shorter/lighter piston.

More piston speed??? You're eather gonna get it from buzzing a shorter stroke to make power, or from a longer stroke at less rpm, take your pick.

I'm buzzing my 414 to 6700 now. No sense shifting while it's making power.

Dropped my block off to my machinist today. He said he's had to turn 8 or 10 of the Ohio cranks in the last couple years.

I swear to god, parts are like doctors......one guy LOVES em, next guy hates em...

My run o the mill Scat stuff is on its 3rd build and so far, so good. Been pounded pretty hard, too. I'm sure someone out there has had trouble with the same stuff I'm running. Luck of the draw?
