I have a 2005 Impala. All the fancy doo dads. Well fancy to me with the light to tell you the oil is low. Well, I was at the store just now and when I went to start the car, that light comes on. No biggie. Got home, popped the trunk, grabbed a quart I keep there, and some towels to verify it. I was a little sloppy pouring the oil into the car, some, not more than I haven't spilled in the past 40 years. This time I hear a little POOF! and a small fire starts. I know oil burns and all, but I never imagined it would just start up like that. Yeah, yeah, I know, spontaneous combustion and all, but I guess I got complacent. It was surprising it happened, is all. I got it out right away, wasn't that big, and I wiped up the little bit of excess that was there. Just crazy thing to happen is all.

The first time I was stupid and bought a set of ? Cal Custom ? valve covers for my 440 RR, this was about 1971, I didn't realize that this was the start of Chineseo. The "twist in" oil filler cap boss was not built correctly and the God Dammed oil cap would vibrate off just about as fast as you could twist it on.

So.......anyway............I had the brand new Cal Jun..........uh I mean "Custom" valve covers, and a BRAND new set of fancy yellow plug wires.

And I'm goin down the street.

And I smell somethin

And I stop..........

and I get out

and I open the hood, and there it is, no oil cap, oil all over the headers BURNING and has melted 3 or 4 of my fancy new yellow plug wires.
