I have a 1974 Plymouth duster with the 360. When it’s at idle the oil pressure is around 15-17 psi. I’ve had some people say that’s to low and then I’ve read some post on here saying that’s normal. So what’s your guys opinion on it. Thanks.

What is it going down the road at about 2000 RPM? What you have at idle is plenty as long as it has a substantial amount at RPM.

The 318 in my Duster does the same thing. If I’m sitting at a “long” light, I’ll put the trans in neutral. That brings up the oil pressure and helps keep the engine a little cooler with this small increase in RPM.

To give some perspective, the factory oil pressure switch cuts the oil light on at "around" 3 PSI. Trust me. You're good. lol

I had a sudden oil pressure drop in a Magnum I have with pressures like you're describing. Turns out there was a crack on the threads of the oil pump pick-up tube where it threads into the pump. It was only a few years old too.

At a dead idle at operating temperature,,,that is perfectly fine .
Especially an old street car .

As long as it comes right back up when you hit the throttle,,,there is nothing wrong with it .
And the pressure you said you have at 2000 is very good .
