So pretty sure a stock 5.9 is 4.00 bore,
but what thickness are the rings on stock pistons. I believe I've heard they are 5/64, 5/64, and 3/16 for the oil ring.
Is this correct?

Is it a LA 5.9 or an Magnum 5.9....?

Stock or aftermarket pistons?

LA 360 probably 5/64 as noted above...
Mag 360 stock were metric size rings...
Aftermarket piston ....need to check piston manufacturer

I think its a mag.
I use ford truck rings 1.5 1.5 4.0, i've got a napa # i can gig up if you want.

Thanks guys, it's a 5.9 Magnum, stock bore and pistons. and I had a chance to get online here at work to check it out. The Magnum does use metric sizes, 1.5, 1.5, and 4mm, so just ordered a set from summit, along with an oil pan, and a ball type cylinder hone, cause nobody around here rents them.
