Turns a fragile Ipod into a Knucklehead proof device. Ipod I use in the garage for music has an Otter Box cover on it. Ipod crashed to the floor from 6' 3 times yesterday, and from waist high another 3 times....all in under a minute...with no damage.

Yeah, they are very good.

When I went to go get one and asked the guy if they really worked, he started throwing his smart phone on the concrete floor, bounced it off the wall a couple of times. The phone still worked.

Otter Box - I have one on my iPhone... It's my second one. When I wore out the first one, they replaced it, free.

I've done the same thing with my otter box. Once, I tripped and my phone flew about 10 feet into a brick wall -- no damage at all.

Usually, the best prices are here:

.

its water proof up to 6 feet for like 1 hour at that depth. dirt/dust proof, snow proof and shock proof don't drop an otterbox in water. your phone will not last long. an otter box is a nice case. but the life case takes it a step further.

If you're going to go Otterbox, I suggest the Defender series. It offers the best protection for a decent price.

i had that. too big for me.. i went with the commuter series. fit in my pocket a lot better.. now i have a cheepo case on mine. was a temporary thing that i have never gotten around to upgrading..lol

Ahh, I see. Well since I won't be going swimming with mine, or letting the dog have it to bury in the back yard, I'm probably good, lol.

I do like the waterproof feature though, just never know if I was to drop it in water accidentally.

I have the Defender series right now, I may look into those if/when I upgrade.

the problem i have with all this protection crap for a cell phone or I-pod comes down to one thing

WHY DON'T THEY MAKE THE DAMN THINGS RIGHT THE FIRST TIME???
!!!!!

such a waste of dollars for the consumers. Cheap crap, that seems to be made to break so you have to replace your phone.
I am not a person that has to keep updated with the latest and the greatest phones and i will use a phone till nobody even knows what kind of phone you have.

They do make really tough cell phones that can survive a lot. But people rarely buy them because they aren't sleek looking enough. Then those sleek looking phones go into large cases to protect them :D

If you don't want a smart phone there is the Samsung Rugby flip phone that is built tough. Samsung also has the S5 Active which is built pretty damn sturdy as well (built to survive drops).

Then there are many "military grade" cellphones available as well :D

My last cell phone was a dust/shock/water proof flip phone. I can say it was more than durable...dropped it with it open more than once. Landed more than once, keyboard/display facing the ground. Hardly ever used it, battery was starting to go...replacement battery $100.....smart phone $100.....sort of a no brainer...

I am learning that a lot of the "apps" are a frigging joke. Pop ups galore.....found a picture resizer that I worked well. Minimal pop ups. After resizing several photos with it the language converting to Chinese...I clicked on one of the buttons....you want English? Buy the app....

The Galaxy S5 that I have is a very nice phone. Without the Otter Box it was too thin/slippery for me to hold.

I have life proof on my phone. I am a service tech for apartments so it's been covered in drywall dust, wood shavings, water, sewage, paint. It's been in my pocket and taken a very hard beating from tools and falls and salt during the winter. It went with my up a 13,000 foot mountain in Rocky Mountain national park and never missed a beat. However after a year and a half the screen cover has gotten loose so I will
Be taking advantage of the life time warranty.

I used a otter box for a week and it was a great case as well but it was a bit larger and I don't want the demise of my phone to be switching cases .

Why not get rid of that silly ifone and buy yourself a galaxy?
Waterproof right out of the box (heck, you can throw it in the pond box and all and only the box will get damaged)

Galaxy?? No thanks. Too big. My mom and sister have those things. Good for a chick with a purse I guess but no way do I want a phone thT huge. Hell my iphone5 is boarder line too big.

I have an Otter box and dropped it many times, sure is tough but did get a crack last time it took a digger...but did its job and no damage to the phone :glasses7:
