brought home some pieces of our next project today. 1935 Ford Coupe. I know........its not a Mopar. Will pick up more pieces of it tomorrow. The car is not all together yet. I was supposed to meet Tyler after work today and get them but I was called and had to rush my wife to the hospital this afternoon so it didn't happen. If all goes right tomorrow, will post more pics and a little more detail. Here is the first round of what we brought home today.

and now as Paul Harvey used to say, the rest of the story. There is a story behind this. ..........here it is.
A couple of weeks ago I posted some pics of a car show that we went to in Madison, Indiana. The one where we met up with Kegan B. from FABO. We were sitting there and this older gentleman came up to our cars and spent a lot of time looking at them. He spent I know an hour looking through the books we have on display showing the progress from start, during the process up till the end of the resto. Finall he came back and started talking to us and Tyler went up to the front of the cars and talked to him showing him some pictures and explaining to him what we done.
A short time later, my wife and I had to go to the restroom and Tyler had disappeared. Could not find him anywhere around. We started walking up towards the bath house by the pool area and there he was standing by a 1939 Ford Coupe talking to the same man that was down at the cars earlier. We went over and was introduced to this man and talked to him a little bit, then went on to the restroom. I had known of this man from a awhile back when I was told his name. He had been the president of one of the biggest local car clubs from our area. Went back to our cars and Tyler was sitting there and asked him what the deal was and he said that Bobby told him he had this 35 Ford Coupe that he wanted him to paint. Bobby had this car for 40 years. Tyler is going to shoot the whole car again and clear it. He will sand it and then buff it all out like glass. Bobby has taken a liking to Tyler and he isn't able to work on this like he used to and Bobby doesn't know but we are planning to help him finish this car up when Tyler finishes painting it. Bobby like I said earlier is not in good health and he wants to get it done and take it to " The Pumpkin Run " this fall and show it while he is still able. He is not able to get in tight places and move around to do this so I think it is time we step up and help a fellow car guy out. Bobby will have a nice 1939 Ford for sale when this one is complete. I snapped a pic of him and the car at his house before we left. One of his garages is bigger than my house. And that is the rest of the story.

well I had planned on posting up some pics of this project as it progressed on but I guess since its not a Mopar no one seems to be interested in it. Makes it easier on me.

Personally, I like 35-36 ford coupes, They`re beautiful cars as everybody will see when put together. I would rather see a flattie or a 426 setting between the wells, but that`s just me. Good on you for helping the man out:happy1:

thanks. Painted the pieces today. plan on picking up the body next Thursday night and having it done in a week or so.

its going to be a nice rod. We dropped off some of the pieces that painted and buffed out. He was glad to see it going in the right direction again. He has been years on it so far he said. I picked up the bucket seats tonight and made arrangements with the man who done the seats in the Dart to look at them on Wednesday and give him a price on doing them in leather. These seats have not been sat in yet and he is going to cover them. should look nice in there. Plan on picking up the body Thursday night and bring it back here to get it ready to paint. will try and post some pics of the painted pieces later tonight.

I'm interested. I'm guessing others are as well. I'm interested because I'm into all cars (and this is a very cool one), but also because it's a great story and reason to do the project. But, up to you whether you continue posting pics.

That's gonna be a beautiful car!! I'll be happy if you decide to keep posting updates!!

very nice car and beautiful job you are doing for him. My cousin has a 33 Ford since 1958. I love them. Keep posting, Joe
