Paint or Natural?

Housing - paint - semi gloss black
Center section - natural
Backing plates - paint - black phosphate
U bolts - natural
Shock plates - paint -semi gloss black
Pinion snubber - natural
Drive shaft - natural
Drive shaft yoke - natural
Pinion yoke - natural
Nuts and washers - paint black phosphate

Most of my deductions above were based on if the part was rusty or not, but many of the parts were bought seperatly so I don't know if many of the painted parts were originally natural. The ones with a ? After them I'm on the fence based on versions factors. Right now I'm just priming, so it will be:
black = paint
grey = natural

So what say you!

Depends if you're going for the factory look, anti rust or personal preference.

Shock plates were semi-gloss black, U bolts bare.

Backing plates were originally black phosphate. High Heat BBQ paint fakes it well...

Pinion snubber plates were bare steel

3rd member pumpkin was bare cast.

Looking for factory look.

Thanks for the bbq paint idea.

I assume nuts and washers would be natural or some form of coating.

Also tray hammer gray, have some different color tones. Heres a backing plates and disk dust shield I did a while back..

VHT makes a paint called "Natural Cast"
I have used it on a few parts, and the color is real close to the natural cast iron. I used it to protect from rust.
