I purchased my 1967 Barracuda last summer and it had been painted about two years prior to me buying it. It is painted with base clear purple metallic and overall the paint is pretty good but there are a few spots where there are drips in the clear coat. I was told that the paint job is three coats of base and three coats of clear. It is in the local restoration shop now having it cut and buffed to eliminate the drips.
I am considering some sort of paint protection and all the talk these days is about ceramic coatings. They seem to range in price from the affordable do it yourself kits to over the top crazy several thousand dollar professional applicators.
Some people have said that since the car will not be driven very much and put away for half of the year that spending a whole lot of money after it has been polished may not be necessary.
What is anyone's experience with polishes and or ceramic coatings?

Grab a can of Maquire Gold. Wax on.. wax off. Don't fall for the hype...

The paint care "industry" is just out to take your money. Any good 100% Carnauba wax is all you need. For getting it nice fast I use Presta Fast Wax. Goes on easy and comes off even easier.

Use a good quality wax and keep it out of the Sun when you can, and it'll last a good long time and look good doing it.
