I was getting ready to install the pan on my mid 70's 360. I noticed that the side gaskets go all the way to the timing gear cover and the rear main. The curved end seals appear to have to on top of the side gaskets. (when the block is on the stand with the crank top) Is this correct? It seems like a lot to compress at the corners. It also makes sense that there is a reason the gaskets are made the way they are.
As in the title, I would rather be safe than have a problem at start up.
Thanks,
Mike

The ends of the cork gasket should fit in a little slot made for the gasket in the end seals. Just put a little dab of RTV on both sides of the gasket, because if its gonna leak it will be form there.

Careful, that part number is for a Magnum 360/5.9 IIRC. wont work on a LA. I looked last year for a one piece LA pan gasket and turned up nothing unless someone knows otherwise.

Uh oh that's the one I bought for my LA 360. I can't see the application notes right now, but I thought it was the correct one. Mine is still in the box...
