PATINA

Patina builds are awesome. Nothing like finding a real barn find and getting it back on the road.

Patina is like barn find, ran when parked, and all those other bullcrap sayings. One of my all time favorites is "Running engine" but the engine in the ad has no carburetor, distributor, wires and a myriad of other missing parts.

The older I get, the more I tend to favor rough paint. Having a nice paint job is too stressful and doesn't really matter to me to begin with as long as it's structurally and mechanically sound.

I prefer shiny, specifically on my own car. But it depends on the patina but I often like the look. And don’t always hate newly made patina. But if it’s to cover up or make excuses for sloppy/lazy craftsmanship, nah not my thing. Just totally depends on how it’s presented.

Southern cars get some amazing patina. Factory Blue and green cars usually have the best patina after sitting fading. I myself love a patina car especially when everything else is restored and detailed but the skin is how it was found. It's only original once. I don't own a patina car but I sure wish I did. All mine have (had) nice paint but door dings my kids bikes, yadda yadda they all need 10k paint jobs again..... Patina car I wouldn't have to even worry about it.

This is going to be a patina build. I want to get the stance and the wheel/tire combo right, but the body will remain basically as is.

Has its place, love a yank truck, petina shop logos, new motor, brakes and driveline. But if not done right just looks like you couldnt afford the paint job

All my other cars, are award-winning/magazine cars. They're a PITA. Krusty has embarrassed a lot of shiny car owners. Only the outside looks "crusty".
This past 6 months, has been the most fun I've had with a car, in decades.

I love original patina. Love it. Reminds me of what these cars looked like on the streets in the 80's. Just 2nd hand cheap cars that kids bought and beat on. Sat on the hoods at the Taste-Freeze, shot the loop, with bright yellow traction bars, fat keystone mags in the back, and old faded paint - right where the money stopped. Take me back to that time....

Patina can look good on pre-'60s cars. Newer than that just looks junky.

In my worthless opinion.

Paint would only hurt this ..... my opinion of course

Vanilla ages.... and gets better. Only time can do that...... same with this.... get the linseed oil and it's done! Then somebody pulls up with their 8,000 dollar paint job on their D150 and is burnt up inside because folks are looking at the truck below. LOL This is absolutely the truck that would chase you through the woods in the dark and you can't escape.... :D

Truth is...... I like both. Patina and restored/new paint. I absolutely like both
