I bought this Jeep from a good friend of mine who just retired and has had this thing since it was new. It has a fiberglass body and a 304 V8 with a 3 speed. He bought a new frame for it 2 years ago and got half way into the project and decided to sell because he didn't want to mess with it anymore. I told him 10 years ago I wanted the jeep if he ever sold it. Well he called and I bought it about 2 months ago. The frame wasn't on it yet. He had the front end off and that's as far as he got. I trailored it home and got to work.

I put in a stailess dash with new gauges
I hired a couple buddies with a shop to swap the frame and set the tub on it and then I finished the rest. It's basically new now. The only thing I re-used was the axles and drivetrain. I put on a rancho adjustable air ride suspension, 4" lift, new tires and wheels. All stainless lines and bolts etc. Since the dash had no place for a radio I decided to mount a couple amps and built a box for 12" subs in the back and put 4" Infinity's in the dash. I then took a RCA cable and cut the ends off and wired it to a headphone jack and now use my IPOD to run the stereo. Works pretty slick.

I'm gonna put some nice racing seats in it and carpet the tub real nice. My brother in law is building me some stainless muffler's to replace the current ones and then we are gonna build a stainless center counsel where the wood one is now. The muffler's are gonna be trick!!

What do you think so far.

Awesome I love Jeeps. I hope to find a Comanche with a 4.0 and 5spd, just to beat to death do some mudding etc. Of course I always have to be different hence using a Comanche. But I would definitely take a CJ if I could get one. Right now my daily driver is a 96 Grand Cherokee with a 5.2L. Hopefully if I ever get a decent job in a few years I can also use that to play around with. My favorite thing to do is to pull out Chebby and Ferd Trucks with my Jeep, and of course to drive right through the same stuff and stop to get hooked up that they are stuck in just to piss them off. I think my Grand Cherokee is more capable than some of the Brand X trucks plus I used to drive off road alot while I was in the Army, learned some valuable skills. I can drive a Hummer through about anything.

I've never been much of a Jeep guy, but that looks pretty good Brett.
Every time I see one with a lift kit, I say to myself. That is going to tip over on the first turn. Guess what, wrong again. LOL

No mud for this one! yeah I'm a puss! with my luck in the high horsepower department I'm definatley not taking this thing off road. I'd be on my lid in no time. It's just a toy, something to tinker with.

Thats the best part getting the thing on its side,iv got the ram down on her side twice!its a blast,an its always somthin to talk about at school when all the girls wonder why every weekend i come back with more body damage,an missing windows!LOL
