Pit man arm

Can’t seem to get the new pitman arm to seat all the way up on the steering shaft. I aligned the bigger slots up and it seem to slide on about a 1/4 inch. Put the nut on but get to a point I can’t turn it anymore. Thinking of taking a pc of pipe that will fit over the shaft and see if I can pound it on further. Is this normal to be such a tight fight

Had the same when I put PS on my R/R. Seems like the new Pittman arm splines are a bit tight. I hit the splines on both with a small fine file and some crocus cloth. Off and on about 12 times and got it to seat with the washer and added some locktite for insurance.
