Plug a smog hole

When the tap went in it was hard to turn,when the tap was in it I could not pull it up,so my thought then it has threads,I call my local machine shop they were happy to help to the tune of 30 dollars,the price of the bolts and tap Handel+ 1/4 tap.witch i am returning - the tap.So in short I bailed.

Actually $30 ain't bad!! You solved your problem and you didn't spend a fortune, sorry we couldn't have helped you more.

same thing happened to me, tapped 1/4 hole and screw fell right in. wad of tin foil and jb weld worked great so(2 years)

I used 1/16 NPT hex plugs. No drilling necessary. Worked great!
