OER sells repop ones cheaper than having a company anodize them...I'm in the country and have polished motorcycle frames..gonna use same method..0000 steel wool isn't stiff enough...might try 000 steel wool..alum is funny...the inner stainless strips are a breeze
Our 67 cuda grill was the same. There is no "polishing" of anodized pieces as far as I know. Unfortunately gotta be stripped, then sanded/polished.

Will, I've read in the past where folks have used Easy Off oven cleaner to strip the anodizing from the aluminum. Today's Easy Off may not be the same as back when, so who knows?! Good luck with it. You going to Rockingham in November?
Hey Jackie I have used the generic lemon scent oven cleaner to remove anodizing from aluminum so it does work and I will probably try that and then polish it from there...Will be @ The Rock in Nov...might even try to relax and watch the racing
