71 Scamp, 4 spd 833 trans, R3 416 ,Indy heads, bullet cam 700 lift W the T@D rockers 1.65-1 ,860 pro systems carb, 1 7/8 self built headers, 8 3/4 Aluminum member 4.88 gears 29.5 x 11.5 M/T slicks, Advanced systems 10" adj clutch Car is 2900 lbs me in it.

Ran a 9.99 @ 132.8 mph 1.408 60' Engine Only.

the clutch is still slipping some, my 60's should be better, O tire spin and I'm going through the trap at 7800 rpm and only 132 mph, #s don't ad up.

So I think there is more in it yet on Eng, I also have 250 Nos plate on the car just not hooked up yet
nice car, cant believe your still using the 833. im guessing because the car is lite you havent done much damage to it. have you modified it? that thing is an anchor. put a jerico in it and you'll drop 3 to 4 10ths. i had the factory 23 spl. in mine and no matter what i did(slick shifted) results were the same. and the linkage would bind (supershifter 3) going into 2nd from the twisting from the launch. i called liberty and it just didn't make sense to spend the money on old stuff. even they said get a jerico. best thing i did. 1st pass went from 11.0 to a 10.70! not trying to be critical, i just don't miss those days of taking out the trans all the time because something broke. take care mark.

Ya a new trany is in the plan, just need to recover from the last $20,000.00 I just spent in the past 2 years. My 833 is the aluminum over drive case, and after market tail housing, built by liberty, with a good shifter, I do not miss shifts, but I am still using my clutch on shifts and backing out on the throttle, So there is lots to be had with a better set up that is for sure.:burnout:Have you seen any of my video's

nice set up, like the looks of you car with the big back tire. my buddy just had his b1/ts motor done by best machine. i would love to take my car to milan some time, my wife is from mich. and her parents have a farm in kingston. we usally go up there after schools out so the kids can spend the summer there. went to ubly dragway once, thats a cool track. reminds me of westhampton dragway out here back in the day. good luck with the car. MARK

Quote "Not an 8 sec. car, best 1/4 et is 9.13 with a 5.78 eighth mile et. The best eighth mile et is 5.72, which should equate to 9.0's but not in the 8 second zone. Cam is Comp 650 324 with 1.5 rockers on race gas."

Maybe it is an 8 second flat tappet car, this past weekend at Edgewater, at just after 4 in the afternoon it ran 9.070 with a 5.741 eighth mile et, before the night was over it ran 5.696 in the eighth. It was an eighth mile race. My calculations says at the 5.696 et based on the same relationship as the 9.07 - 5.741 run would have been 8.9989. Surprised me....

Well I have lurked around here for awhile figure it is time to post something and this seems like as good a place as any. I have two A bodies, both 68 Barracudas, both all motor and both deep in the 8's.

First car is a mild steel tube chassis with a 525" B1/MC motor. Car has been 8.0's at 170 but we typically run it on the throttle stop in S/ST and go 10.90 in the high 150's. Car weighs 2900+lbs, is a 4 link strut car with a 33x15 tire. We run it all out once a year at the MATS, but leave the t stop on it. Not really set up to run all out anymore, no gear and tight converter but it does ok.

Engine CID and it's goodies-525" B1/MC, Keith black block, Callies Crank, GRP Rods, CP pistons Jesel T&D yada yada
trans & stall-Powerglide 8" ATI 6400 stall
rear and gear-Dana 60 4.10
suspension and tires- 4Link Strut
Your rides weigt- 2900+

The other one is a Hot Street car. Runs on a True 10.5" tire. 29.5x10.5 to be exact. Tips the scales around 3400lbs now. We have not had a chance to run it at sea level or even get it totally sorted out yet. Powerplant is a motor 499" 99 Hemi with a TH210. We are still working on the car but hope this year to get it sorted out and running well. We have been .40's at 163 up here in Vegas. Best air so far has been 3000' ish. With some work we think it should run teens in good air and high 20's maybe up here. Just need time to get there and a place to race. Still pullling 12 degrees of timing out of it for 1.5 seconds. Best 60' for me has been 1.29.

Engine CID and it's goodies-499" Hemi 99(Pro Stock Hemi), Best of the best.
trans & stall-TH210 with 7" A1 Convertor 8200 stall
rear and gear- 9" Ford with 5.29 Gear
suspension and tires- Ladder bar stock front 29.5x10.5
Your rides weight- 3400+-

Welcome Al!

Im really hoping for more with my 500" motor this year. My heads and intake were worked over by a fellow named John Haskell. They dont look like B1s anymore!
