power steering question again

On my 70 Dart Swinger Previous owner had the pressure line removed and screwed a plug into the pump. Never had a chance to drive it because it would not start. Not sure what to do. Should I leave the steering box in and hope its good? Not sure if the line was removed because the steering box was leaking, the pump was leaking, hose was bad, what should I do?

Hook up a pressure hose and all will be revealed.

I dont know of a plug that fits properly to line out on a p/s pump. Lets hope the new line seats and seals when installed. Good luck

Yeah, they screwed a fitting into it and capped it with a grease fitting:wack:
I have the engine out now and thought it would be easier to fix with everything out. Is it hard to drop the steering box if needed with the engine in? I will at least replace the pump, lines , and fittings.
