"In Formation"

Beneath the flags that proudly wave,
They stand—so young, so fierce, so brave.
Camouflage stitched with silent might,
Eyes set firm, prepared to fight.

A sea of green, a single tan,
One voice, one purpose, woman and man.
The stars and stripes behind them soar,
Reminding all what they stand for.

Not yet in battle, but trained to be,
The guardians of liberty.
Their posture speaks, their silence roars,
Of honor, duty, and unseen wars.

They hold the line, the future’s frame,
Each bearing pride without a name.
So here they stand, a steadfast wall—
The heart of service, one and all.

my 13 year old daughter (Rylee) just completed her recruit training for the naval Sea Cadets.. they boke camp two days early due to a cadet or two with covid but got the field stuff finished and she will only have two online course later in the month to graduate. they are a review and 100 question test.. not big deal for her. such a cool *** program.. once she graduates she can train in all sorts of things across the country.. last month they took her to the firing range.. she loved that ****.. qualified on a 22 hand gun and a 22 rifle.. 59 out of 100 with the hand gun and 100 out of 100 with the rifle.. not bad for the first time even holding a gun.. he first drill after joining she had to PT qualify... pumped out 25 pushups, plank for like 1:30 minutes and ran the mile in 7 min, 20 sec. not bad for not really training for any of that stuff. this kid amazes me every day.. so smart and athletic.

she missed the summer training where all the fun stuff is like boating, repelling, rock walls and all sorts of fun stuff... she didn't get enrolled until the end of sept. winter time they work with toast masters (public speaking). i was at work but got to see some video of her speech.. man did she command that stage, incredible. her speech was about when she was young she tried to use the shower rod as a trapezes and ended up with a black eye for school pictures the next day.. i hear she got a few laughs... just before Christmas her commander asked her to join a zoom call. the call was a meet the cadet call for prospective recruits. they wanted a newer recruit, a older recruit and someone that graduated. she actually had a zoom call for recruit training scheduled for that same day and time. she talked to her commander and told him about the conflict. he said she was specifically requested and to reach out to see if the training zoom call could be changed for her which they did. come to find out one of the toast master instructors was impressed whit how well she did with her speech and was the one that requested her.. like i said this kid amazes me just about every day with what she can accomplish

America's Sea Cadets - The US Navy’s youth development program.

her division: William E. Taylor Division

check her out.. she is the little one with glasses... when they are marching she is the front row left side of the picture...

With utmost respect. Women in the military (especially beautiful, young women) are solicited extensively when they enter military service. One of my drill instructors ‘married’ one of my fellow recruits in boot camp. So many females I knew were either constantly solicited, or constantly having sex-only ONE of many aspects regarding combined service. Encouraging group effort, cooperation, camaraderie etc. is very important in anyone’s development. But consideration should be given for a young woman entering military service. Again this is given with respect, and concern. Have a good day and may GOD bless your family forever.

kid got home from texas last night where she did seabee welding training. her first time staffing a training as a CPO.

she said the instructor was impressed with her welding skills (for those that don't know she is in a tech hich school for welding) and had her helping other students. she showed Texas State Senator/Naval Academy graduate/Sea Bee Brent Hagenbuch around and it sounds like he was really impressed with her.. suggested the naval academy to her and also was telling her about the seabees. she had a few instructors tell her that she really has abrite future, they want her back next year on the staff. she met some other cadets that she trained with in michagan and on th elexington last year.. its so cool that kids from all over the country meet up on these trainings and get friendly and wind uop at other trainings together. that has to feel really nice knowing other people in a new place...

she must have done something right. she got a helll of a review from someone they said is quite picky about what they write on reviews...

couple of pics with the squad she was in charge of, a few of the welding crew

Some people "get it", and other just don't. Now she had to figure out what she like to weld... heavy structures or aircraft quality stuff... both pay really well.
Oh, and NO COLLEGE DEBT!!!!

Coming from an old retired active duty Chief of 22 years your daughter is simply outstanding! With her motivation and determination she will be successful in whatever path she chooses. My own daughter followed in my foot steps and joined the the Navy after of one year of college ( she cited something about being sick of know nothing 'professors') became an Aviation Ordnanceman and made it to AO1, but then was injured on the job and after several months was put out on a medical discharge just when she was lined up to make Chief. Super proud of her as you are of your daughter.

Great job by her.

Cool she likes welding, has a good understanding, leading the others with assistance.
