pulling motor to clean/paint engine bay

Hey guys and gals. I'm ready to pull the motor out of the dart but i,m having trouble with access to top trans bolts. I don't think I can even reach the bell housing bolts (top). Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You should be able to reach them?Turn the wrench around.

Take the hood of geta step stool or crawl up on the engine.Shouldn't be to hard to get to.Can also unbolt the trans cross memeber and lower the rear of the trans a bit this will give you more hand room. Jim

I can get my hand in from the top with a wrench, but if you don't fit that way, you can remove the trans cross member, and lower the tail of the trans down, then you can reach those bolts with a ratchet and a long extension.

lower the rear of the trans. Get a long extension and short socket with unversal. If you'll wrap the unversal with electric tape is wont flipflop around so much but still find the bolt heads

thanks for the info. I'll try lowering the rear of the trans to gain access

you may need to set the distributer cap off.
