Car sits in the very back of the trailer. Impact pushed it all the way to the front. Broke 1 strap and pulled the D ring out on the other side. Looks like since he hit me low the bottom of the trailer door was what actually contacted the car. His car went in about 5 feet and then came back out. What part hit your duster? Looks like his car went under your trailer. Was the Duster that far forward or was that impact related?
I'm a retired fireman of 33 years. I always loved when we went to MVA and asked if the driver was wearing their seat belt, which of course they were, as your looking at a spidered windshield with hair in it.That starburst on the windshield was certainly satisfying....
It's almost like common sense left a calling card, or maybe that's Darwin giving them a thunk on the noggin.I'm a retired fireman of 33 years. But is MUCH harder to prove and prosecute. Though I agree with you.Texting and driving is just as bad as drinking and driving and should be penalized accordingly.
Up here the cops sieze the phone. And check it for recent activity. But is MUCH harder to prove and prosecute. Though I agree with you.
I'm sure they need probable cause right?Up here the cops sieze the phone. And check it for recent activity.
How’s your neck? Is your back hurting?
Seriously Lawyer up!
Same thing I use to say when I was drunk, before 1985.Unfortunately my own son does this and swears he can text and drive just fine. Which is what everybody say's. Scares the hell out of me. Hope everything turns out ok for you.
Sorry, but that is not only dishonest, it is called Insurance Fraud. People have gone to prison for that. Although, as RRR stated, it may be the only way you will get money, it is still dishonest and illegal. How’s your neck? Is your back hurting?

I had a dealing with a company exactly like that when that daughter of the elderly lady across the street backed into my 98 Dakota about 7 years ago. I had just finished putting a beautiful, flawless black paint job on it, powder coated the wheels and fixed up the interior. The KBB value was $4500 at the time. They offered me $2700 and they kept the truck. I asked where the HELL they got that value. Turns out they have their own secret book that contains values based on THEIR research of sales of LIKE vehicles in my area. I asked if I could see it, and they said no. I contacted the Kansas Insurance Commissioner, and, strangely, that is legal. I fought with the insurance company for several months to get $3200 and I kept the truck. When the insurance company is one you have never heard of, get ready to get SCREWED!His insurance is (or was because they will probably drop him) Titan/Home State County Mutual Insurance. When I called them, they referred me to a 2nd company that deals with their claims, who referred me to a 3rd company who handles their claims "this year".

Driving home from a test'n'tune on a Sunday afternoon in broad daylight, I was at a stoplight in a 45mph zone when some guy hit the trailer from behind. Cops say he was doing 45 to 50. Never even touched the brakes! 3 weeks later and insurance co. still hasn't made an offer. Trailer is totaled, race car ('70 Duster) is mechanically ok, no frame damage, but over $12,000 in body damage. I thought the dangerous part was going down the track, not trying to drive home!

Why is it illegal! Are you his lawyer or Doctor? Are you going to pay his medical bills down the road?Sorry, but that is not only dishonest, it is called Insurance Fraud. I have a friend that was hurt in a car accident years ago, he said he was find. Now years later he can't work due to a back injury sustained in the accident. His neck also gives him problems.
I do understand what you're saying. Who said anything about faking a injury?.
Perhaps you misunderstand. My point was that it is dishonest to CLAIM that you are injured when you are not. Now IF you want to hire a lawyer and sue for "What if I hurt later", then do it. But it IS dishonest and illegal to FAKE injuries to defraud an insurance company. I TOTALLY hear what you are saying, though. I just hope you understand what I am saying.
Texting and driving is worse than drunk driving, I've done both. lolTexting and driving is just as bad as drinking and driving and should be penalized accordingly.
