real or fake garrett turbo?

So my friend in conviced that he has a real garrett turbocharger. He bought it online as a garret although, it doesnt say garrett anywhere on it. The box that it came in says that it is a Garrett t3/t4 hybrid turbocharger. It even has a part number on it. So what do you guys think? does this look like a real garrett to you? Looks fake to me.

Looks like a late 80's Ford 4 cylinder copy, Good for about 300 hp. Also does not look like a hybrid in the picture just a t-3, Get another one and do twins on a small block.

looks like a ebay turbo to me ,the 50 ar is the same as the one on my friends 2.3turbo mustang....

Whoa. Garrett and AiResearch are the same company. The name changed over time. It was at one point referred to by both names.
