I'm planning on relocating my rear leafs in my dart. I do have one question, by moving the springs and thus the shock plate inward 3 inches, does this require shorter shocks? I will also be dropping the rear about 1 inch with firm feel drop springs.

It does if you don't move the upper mounts also.
The shocks will even work differently if the are straight up and down instead of at an angle.
They will be stiffer.

So how far do you move the upper mounts? I didnt notice that in any of the threads I read about moving the springs. I havent moved mine yet so where do I find this information?
Thanks Rod

if your running s.s.springs , you won`t have to., I don` think you have to anyway, not that much diff. ! just make sure your shocks are the right length for your set-up.

No, it won't affect it. The shock has plenty of room to compensate.

Here is an inboard kit, dropped 1.5" with whipped out springs.

I am running the SS springs. I had not heard that before. Glad to hear I dont have to move them.

Yes either that or do what I did and take a piece of 3"x1/2"x1/4" C-channel and bolt it to your old shock mount upper holes. Then get some universal shock studs and weld them 3" per side inward. BAM standard length shocks in the standard angle.

I never worry about the shorter distance. Never been a problem with the std bump stops on any car I've had. I'm more worried about the other end, being too extended and topping out.

I didnt either until I used Hotchkis springs and Bilstein shocks. They only had about 2" of shaft showing before the mod.
