Susie the Little Blue Coupe....never seen that one before but it struck a chord. I think most of us have poked around a car in a junkyard, seeing old receipts and notes and knowing it gave a lot of service and meant something to a family.

What a sentimental, offbeat story, makes you wonder about whoever conceived of it...

Is this it?

"watch where ya goin stupid!"

Goofy - Motor Mania, 1950 (HQ) - YouTube

That is one of them. Just like the little car, there was a few different ones. Goofy being a safety freak is another--but there he was trying to drive safe by driving too slow and he was wearing no seat belt so that one might not be available to see

Thanks for posting it, brings back memories. Disney had a ton of cool stuff in the 50's--60's

To the top. This got me hunting around for other Disney classics like 'Charlie the Lonesome Cougar' about a cougar growing up around a lumber mill, running away, dynamite blasts, getting shot at, with an emotional happy ending of course.

The cartoons are great, Gets me thinking of an old series called "My mother the car." About a model T (?) possessed by the guys mother-in-law. Anyone remember it?

reminds me of my fave: "Dad, Can i borrow the car?" with Kurt Russell...

Interesting trivia on Bill Peet, the writer of the 'Suzy' short, he was an illustrator for Disney but got into writing, he wrote '101 Dalmations.'

I haven't seen that in a long time. I think the first time I seen it was on
the Wonderfull World of Disney. Waayyy back in the day. Guess I'm showing
my age here.
A CarToon before "Car's".

Another interesting bit of trivia, this time on Sterling Holloway, the voice of the Narrator. He went on to do the voice of Winnie the Pooh.

Bringing this to the top for new members or anyone else to see....it is Sunday night after all, that's when Disney came on...

Oops looks like the video was taken down, so here it is again....[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pTF6v3ejaJQ"]Disney's (1952) Susie the Little Blue Coupe - YouTube[/ame]

Wow, scary David......I JUST watched this video on my phone 2 hours ago!!! I stopped in here and just seen you bumped this thread LOL :glasses7:

Haha Keith that's spooky. Rani hadn't seen it, of course she loved it.

Another interesting bit of trivia, this time on Sterling Holloway, the voice of the Narrator. He went on to do the voice of Winnie the Pooh.

He had a very long career as a character actor and doing voices overs for Disney and many commercials in the '60's and '70's, for cereal, pop-tarts, puppy chow, etc, etc.

Here's a clip of Sterling Holloway from a great sentimental '40's movie "Remember The Night." Barbara Stanwyck's character comes from bad circumstances, if you watch the scene closely you can feel how grateful she is that Fred MacMurray has brought her to his family home to spend Christmas.

Just click on 'watch on youtube' if you want to watch it.
