i dont think i have ever done anything to a slant that makes it run better or smoother(other than original lash valves lol) then removing the washers...

night and day performance
idles 200rpm lower with out starting to die
and makes the tubes seal better

i know im not running the NGK's like SL6dan likes but these autolite 65's (original street hemi plugs) work great!

P.S. another 60' vid
here is the vid... no loss of life or broken camera... just torque lol...

sweet, getting ready to do a complete tuneup on the scamp and cant wait to put my ngks in

Of course that only works on slant with the drool tubes. Those without you need to retain the washer.

When I was racing this I always removed the washer from the plug. Totally different animal obviously but worked great on a 100cc two stroke :)

So I am going to ask a follow up question. I am running just some over the counter I think auto lite plugs. What are the NGK and why do they make a difference?

Run whatever plug is prescribed, but some of the recommended plugs come with the gaskets to cover other applications. Just cut them off with side cutters. Tube base is the gasket. I tried to get Some recommended NGK plugs but they were superceded with another number that had gaskets. They still have the proper taper. Eg. Autolite 985, I think its an AMC or Chrysler long nosed smog plug.

if you dont have the tubes you have to run the gaskets, the reason you pull them off when your running tube heads is the tube acts as the gasket.

I wonder if its because it puts the plug closer into the chamber?

There are no gaskets to leave off the plugs used in the '75-up \6 heads, which are taper-seat (rather than gasket-seat) items.

805 I love how the camera falls in the video when you step on it... funnier that it is a closed street
