I have a '72 Swinger with the factory A/C parts still inside. The underhood parts are long gone. I want to remove these under-dash vents so I can mount a CB Radio and a 8-Track deck.

Problem is that I can't figure out how to take them out. Any tips? I really need them gone. These are the 3 vents mounted together that are under the dash.

Thanks:read2:

Look under the vent itself and you will see two or three holes.Take a philps screewdriver and go through the holes to the screews. Then just pull it off the heater box.If the vents are chrome I will buy it from you. Mark

Very very easy. It's a one-piece duct assembly held to the underside of the dash by philips head screws going up from the bottom, accessible through holes on the bottom of the duct assembly. Remove the screws and the duct will simply drop off and away from the heater box and dash.

My '71 Dart GT has 2 5/16" or 3/8" nuts holding the duct work to 2 studs on the underside of the dash frame. Look for 2 recesses just outboard of the ash tray.
