I have heard that easy-off oven cleaner can work to get this done??? has anyone tried it??? are there more methods???

Lye like crystal Draino will do it too. Depends on the shape of the part I suppose. Smaller ones would go in a kiddie pool with lye and water. Long sticks would get sprayed with the type of oven cleaner that says "Do not use on aluminum, etc.. " in the directions. Good luck

I like Draino Kitchen Crystals. Dissolve in a bucket (barrel, tub, etc) of hot water. Will be stripped within 20 min.

thanx..i have tried the easy-off method(grill pieces)...how long should i wait???

dust-u, the main thing to remember when working with the Easy Off is to never let it dry all the way. Spray it, let it work for a few minutes ... spray again and let it work, etc. Once the anodizing is removed, rinse the part in cold water to neutralize it and blow it off with your air line.

Good luck!!! :-D

cuda-...yep...i surely found out how freakin hard it is to get off when it dries....ended up sanding and polishing...got a decent result...

Live and learn my friend! Glad it ultimately worked out and you're happy with the results. Post a couple pics if you get the chance.

I used Easy Off to strip a '72 Dodge truck grille. It took several applications of oven cleaner and scrubbing with steel whool to finally remove all the anodizing. Then I sanded it with 220 grit all the way to 2,000 grit wet sandpaper. Next is polishing, I used many different hard compounds and finished it off with Mothers aluminum polish.

i will use the mothers aluminum polish...or "wicked" polish.....
