Rescue This Dog! (or post a pic of yours!)

-
These are our two "hounds".
The red healer is my dog. His name is Grunt. He is 6 yrs. old. He hates cats & mailmen.
My brother-in-law & me found him & his brother in an old chicken coop. The mother had left them & run off.
The vet says they were probably 3 weeks old when we found them.
They were eat up with fleas, ticks, & chicken mites bad.
A good bath & a trip to the vet later they were good to go! My brother-in-law has his brother, his name is Possum. LoL!

The dalmation looking dog is my brothers dog.
His name is Sparks & He is 10 years old.
He is the end result of purebred dalmation & a mutt having a "thru the fence":love7: relationship.
We lovingly refer to him as the dalmahound. He has been a great dog, he LOVES to play catch!
We got him from my lifelong friend who was killed in a car accident 2 weeks after we graduated highschool, so Sparks is kinda special to me....

Yup! & the good thing is that it stays shady 95% of the day too! Yeah, im glad we found them when we did. The vet said they would have been dead in another coulple of days. They were very under-weight & infested with parasites. He is an awsome dog. We found him & his brother in an old chicken coop on my in-laws land while we were out counting cows. We were about 6 miles from the nearest house. We checked with all the neighbors & none of them had a pregnant dog within the last couple of years so we took them in. I'll try to get a pic of Possom, but he's WAY out in the country!

not to be sad but this is the only pic I have of her on this computer. Hoonah was my loyal companion for 14 years as I grew up, I miss her very much and think about her every day. She is a black and tan coon hound. She tried to out live her organs and the doc said the she had the biggest gal balder she had ever seen. Anyway she was a great dog and loved to sleep in the sun, and get her ears scratched. I miss her very much
Pretty dog, even in her old age, hooked up to an I.V. I wish i had a picture of Red Dog and Pip, an Irish Setter and Pip was a rat terrier. Red Dog was an excellent bird dog until you pulled the gun out, then she was gone. Thing I remember the most about Red was she wanted to be a mom in the worst way but was sterile (not spayed). She used to steal Pip's puppies all of the time. Pip had a neat personality, she smiled everytime she heard her name and she loved little kids.

As promised, here is a picture of Possum. He is Grunts brother. I think Grunt must have been the runt because possum is alot bigger than him...

Welcome!

My dog Hershey has never been put up in a fence (that's why he has been sort of rescued from a young girl that couldn't keep him tied up and he got hit by a car) so when I go to walk him he will drag me around like nothing. It is so frustrating that I just don't want to go out and walk him. The choker deal doesn't work because he will pull until he just about passes out sometimes. Yelling doesn't do a bit of good. One of those steal torture collars is starting to look rather appealing. Or it's going to come down to the old ball bat! Just kidding! But my hand can't take much more. He is a very powerful Choc Lab. He will not stay in the yard if I just let him go because he wants to run, run, run. We have a leash law around here. Thanks.
