Anyone have any experience restoring these guys?

I am wondering what kind of paint to use on these?

I thought of using model paint but did not know how that would last in the sun...

Let me know your experience I would love to redo these this weekend.

Thanks,

Craig

Testors model paint works fine. The orange is a mix yourself to match. Red/yellow/brown. Their common yellow looks fine to me.
Wash the emblem with cheap thinner first. Mineral spirits, charcoal starter, zippo fluid.
I dont use a paint brush. I let the paint flow in off the tip of a toothpick. Drag it around to get an even cover. Same method when adding colors and mixing. One tiny dab at a time from a toothpick.

We did a set with Testors........Looked as good a new, and held up nicely in the sun of Florida........Lay it in there, and let them bake in the sun laying flat. 8)

I painted them last night using the testors paint. I choose to go with the same colors I used on the door badges. I used zinc chromate for the yellow and red rouge for the red. I did not have enough guts to try and mix a color so I went with what is close for me.

Thanks for the insight,

Craig
