REV-N-NATOR - Thoughts?

-
Hmmm. Now I wish I knew the redline for a 5.9 Magnum. I bought an MSD-L for mine...

This is pretty cool. Consider the cheapest rev limiter i have seen was a little over $100. then an orange box from summit is $39.95 A few more bucks and you could have this thing. doesn't sound that pricey.

For that price you could get HEI ignition AND a rev limiter that you can set at any RPM you want, and set it from the drivers seat in about 1-2 seconds.
You could also ditch the electronic box, coil, wiring and brackets with my stuff.
This module has the built in REV limiter, and the second link is my full HEI conversion kits.
My ignition kits have all the same advantages of that unit and more.

This is the module with rev limiter.

Where does that unit mount inside the distrib? I am trying to figure it out. I am leaning towards your HEI but I am unfamilair with it.

What ever happened to these? Are they still around? Seems like they should be on every other car for what they claimed. And for the price, wow. Was it snake oil?

They are still around and advertised regularly in the Mopar magazines. I bought one that I installed on the 340 '74 Cuda that I had. I was still trying to get the car dialed in when someone bought the car from me. I was also making carb and cam changes at the time trying to up the performance I had. I did not notice an improvement when I put it on but I was still playing with carb jets and such so I can't say that it wouldn't have proven itself eventually.

I don' either, Joe, and since it would cost me money to find out, I don't feel the need to be the Guinea pig. I've already decided. I run the old 4 pin HEI, and "when I get time" LOL, I'll mount it in a Mopar box.

yea i'm going hei also.. i can't see 40hp with just that box..

Was thinking about replacing my orange box for a chrome and it came up on google. I remember reading about it when I first joined FABO, and I was wondering why it didnt catch on like wildfire. Forget 40 hp, even if it was 15 or so everybody would have one by now...

And they ain't backordered, lol.

Must not be the cat's meow or everybody would have one.

We tried to buy one several times and they were always backordered.

If they are now available, we will probably try one.

I never trust magazine articles. You never know what or what they don't do to get the results they want.

Most mopar mags will only run articles about sponsors products. Think you are really going to get an objective opinion with that?
