I couldnt find anyone using these RHS Pro Action 360 X Cylinder Heads for your 360 application? Is there any benefit to using these over a stock 4027596 stock head? I see that the valves are bigger on these vs a stock LA head. I can have the valves done to 2.055 as well with these. Let compair a few different apples to apples scenarios:

My stock 4027596 heads vs stock RHS heads:

My 4027596 heads with a larger valve and a 3 ang. valve job with bowl cleaning vs the same for the RHS heads:

Which heads are going to perform better in a street strip application?

I just purchased a 360 long block with My engine info:
A fresh 365 short block with main studs(.030" bore), a Comp Cams hyd cam .507"-244 dur @.050" cam, Johnson lifters, spotless 360 hp std/std crank, billet timing set, Milodon deep oil pan/pick-up, also new, brass freeze plug kit and windage tray. Engine is a assembled, 0 mile short block with new Speed Pro H116CP pistons and rods are brand new H-beams and a Melling M72hv oil pump also brand new and MP black wrinkle cast aluminum valve covers and ARP main stud kit.

His are the Indy style... not sure if there is a difference...

Where did you get yours from.. looking for the cheapest place.

Those are the same heads I have they are just calling them PRO ACTION!

I have the LA versions. Personally I would just buy these Out of the box and be done with it for what you are doing. You will have just about the same amount of money into your OLD heads as you would buying these BRAND NEW NEVER USED parts with todays technology. These heads will support around .500 lift out of the box. A minor cut on them and .600 lift is in the equasion in a hurry not much more $$ to have that done before they ship them to you.

Ok thanks MAD Dart..

If I get them right outta the box and compair vs my 596 heads after having the bowl cleaned up, valve upgraded 2.02 and 3* valve job whats the superior head?

My heads would cost me $500 to do this...

These RHS heads outta the box will cost me about $600 if I buy them from flatliners

Do u see where I'm going with this? If one is better I will do it.

Dangggggggggg, Flatlander is sticking it to people!! The only deal there is the RAW Castings at 282.00 each! They are 38.00 cheaper each than Hughes......
Start loading them up and you are getting raped!!

I am not a HEAD guru like some of the other guys on this site are. I just like the idea of using the NEWER castings and technology is all. I am pretty sure that the RHS heads out of the box will out flow the 596 heads with the bowls just being cleaned up. You could fully port them I suppose and pass up the RHS out of the box numbers. But that would cost ALOT more than the 975.00 for RHS heads ready to bolt up done! Call Hughes and see how much more to cut the guides to work with your cam

Just my 2 cents for what it is worth8)

If you are interested in a set of these heads, call Brian at Indio Motor, he has a set that can be ready to go quickly.

I think the reason the flatlanders prices jump pretty hard is the 2.055 intake valve and work that goes into installing them.

If I set them up for 8mm valves and beehive springs which is premium deal they are 1200.00
If we go 11/32 stem and single valve springs they are 1050.00
This is a finish surface cut, valve job, and assembly ready to run.
I just need to know cam spec's.

I got the magnum RHS Indys, I paid 875.00 for mine ready to bolt on from hughes, these heads are really nice, in stock form, they will support 450 hp, I think the LA RHSs flow about the same as the Magnum ones.

uscg charger,,,,,

I would buy from Brian before Hughes, they will be done right the first time!!!

He just ported and set up my RHS HEADS for my build.......the car flies!!

I aint Bullshittinnnnnn!!!!!!!!!!

Jason beware of Flatlander racing. I had a problem with them a couple yrs. back. They sent the wrong part 2 times in a row and they didn't want to remedy it. Told me I didn't know what I was doing and the oil pan they sent me that was labeled 460 Ford would fit my 360 Mopar! Yeah right! The guy running it was a total jerk with me. It wasn't until my 3rd call (took that many times to get through to him) where I was was really mad and told him I was filing a complaint with my credit card company and a complaint to the BBB that I got action. They finally sent a ups return tag for the wrong pan and refunded me. I wouldn't buy anything from them again even if it was the best price on the planet.

SO are you saying there is a better price? I thought the $282 price was cheaper vs the $300+ everyone else wants...

What springs and valve did they use?

Good info Tracy... can u give any insight on the question I asked about the comparision. I can get my 596 heads done for about $500 for large valves, 3* valve job, cleaning bowl, and all equiped with valves and springs I need from a local shop... If I'm gonna pay $850 for a stock version of the RHS from huges or Brian equiped with stock valves and springs is it worth the $350 in performace? B/C if they are about the same in performance then it doesnt make sense to spend the coin.

I was meaning to say bare casting to bare casting they have the best price. Start to load them up and 700+ per head?

Go with a trusted source. Just because you buy something does not mean it will work correctly out of the box, I have first hand experience with that, let me tell you!!
Brian knows his Mopars! I would buy from him before anyone else listed in this thread for sure. It WILL be done correctly the first time!!!!!!!

I ordered them today here in Germany with 2.02 Valves. They look pretty good and i think they perform as well as the Eddy Heads! The advantage for me is that they look much more original as the Eddys!
I will port them a littlebit, nothing else. Hope they do a good Job on my 340HP.

I think before one dicks around wiuth the Magnum valvetrain I'd order the LA versions. Get the decent chamber and the good flowing magnum ports but the ease of LA manifolding and rocker systems.

I wasnt planning on doing anyting with the magnum version of the heads. was thinking of the LA style. Is doing this worth the $850 for the RHS stockers vs the $500 596 upgraded heads?

Ok so let me get this straight Flatliners gives you both heads assembled with:
20301-X1 LA-X
SB Chrysler LA
318-415 c.i.
Big Valve Head
ASSEMBLED
w/Hyd. Cam 179cc 62cc Angle 2.055"
x 11/32" 1.625" x 11/32 Includes:
-CompCams double
springs (550 max lift)
-Manley Race flow valves
-Chrome moly retainers
-Vicon seals $719

Just saying thats a huge price difference between vendors...why?

Price differences are usually labor costs. And from my experience you get what you pay for. That's good enough for some people. I know that with IMM you get reasy to run complete heads. Not strictly new parts tossed tofether which I think the Flatlander versions might be for that figure.

"Quote" what is the price to set them up stock valve and stem cut to fit my cam (507 lift, 247 @.050) Would the stock version of the RHS heads out flow my 596 large valve heads? "Quote"

The 8mm valves are pretty expensive. The stock Magnum valves don't give you much installed height to allow decent lift.
If you use 11/32 valves, you still don't get much installed height.

Best option for the $$$ is the 8mm valves, beehive springs. We use 2.00 x 1.6 valves, hone the guides, cut the spring pockets for the Beehive springs and installed height, cut the tops of the guides down for up to .600 lift with a positive seal.
We do the valve job which is specific to this head and the 2.00 x 1.60 valve, and blend the valve job into the bowl.
We also backcut the intake valve, assemble the heads and check all spring's I.H. and we surface cut the heads up to .020 per customer request.
And so you know, I checked out 2 sets of heads and both came in at 67cc chambers!!!!
So beware of your compression or at least have your chambers CC'd!

Flow after all this is 258cfm at .500 lift and 264 at .550. Same at .600 lift.
Not too bad for 1200 bucks.
