Ride Height and Ground Clearance.

I like the stance of the car right now. I have 215/65-15 tires up front and 275/60-15 in the back. The ride height specs from the FSM say to have 1 7/8" measuring from point A to B. Mine is 1" even. So My height is 7/8" lower than stock measurement. I am not sure how much that would be for ride height at the wheel wells. When I put a straight edge over the front tire, it clears the wheel well by 1/8 inch. FWIW, My tires are 26 inch tall and original bias ply tires were 25.3 inch tall.
I only have 4 inches of ground clearance with the skid plate that I made.
My question is... What would you do if you were me? Leave it as is or raise it up an inch or so?

Leave it. The stance looks great! Just pay attention where you are driving.

you could raise it a small amount and it would still look good, but the camber will change so it’s front end alignment time again.

The stance is awesome, but you may regret smacking that skid plate someday? Although it looks pretty rugged? Could you have made it a shorter heigth?

It clears by 1/8 inch the bottom of the oil pan.

You may have just answered your own question. If your stuff the skid plate you’re going to stuff your oil pan. But it shouldn’t puncture it.

I would leave it and I would go as far as to lower the rear as well, just be careful going over speed bumps

I would raise it to 1 7/8". I am having trouble understanding the skid plate. I have certainly seen them on Trucks and Jeeps, but I have never seen one on a Mopar car. Do not misunderstand me, I am not bashing the idea, I just don't understand it.

I am more worried with your torsion bar size than ride height. If you are on oem size bars than bottoming out is more potential. If you upgraded to 1” bars or bigger I would run it and not worry.

Yup, I put 1.03” PST bars in mine and it had slant 6 bars in it with a 340/727 swap so it was soft and had definite scrapes from it. With the new bars its nice and firm so I would say you will be ok. But take a couple speed bumps and see how you feel with it.

You got the wrong oilpan; get a roadrace pan with the side bump-outs.
Then your skid plate can be tucked up just below the K, and then you can run as low as you want to, commensurate with;
A) a usable camber-change window.and
B) not busting up the bump-stops.and
C) not having to deal with the wandering that the bad scrub radius causes.
Run big T-bars and HD shocks.
Nice looking ride,
but......... there's no way I could drive it like that.

It's a great lookin car with a really nice stance. 1" extra in the front won't be noticeable and would give you a bit more room for the skid plate. That said, I like my cars sitting at least stock ride height in the front and sometimes taller, so I'm kinda biased there.

My drive way is on a hill, did front end during rainy/ summer season, still haven't finalized ride height. There is NO equal place in drive.
higher in front, slanted all the way across. I even have a self leveling laser... I just want a flat slab, dammit! Lol

I will adjust the ride height to FSM specs tomorrow and see how it looks. I can align the car well enough to drive and when I finish I can take it to an alignment shop.

1" is not going to appreciably affect the alignment. Plus, if there's something you don't like about it, it's easy to put it back!

You will get a better alignment that way, and, in my humble opinion, she'll drive a bit better, and if yer blazin, then make a fast turn, find a pothole, you may need that 1" ...of I had the coin, I'd lower the back of mine w/ those " drop hangers, it would help me...

I guess Ill be doing my ride height in the barn, probably when it's 25 degrees out. it has a thick level wood floor. In the cold *** barn Cuz every other garage space is either small or full of stuff.

Going to attempt a waste oil burner hopefully before Christmas, I have 7, 55 gallon drums on the property...thanks previous owners. And my friend has a wood stove I can pick up when I wanna drive 150 miles & get it .
