Ridiculous car show registration fees. Rant.

But Moparfest you have to pay for two days even if you just go for one day. $35 for one day isn't so cheap. Give aways are great if they are run honestly, lets see if anybody from the USA wins a car

Moparfest is NOT honest with their draws.A buddy of mine got picked for the one of ten people to win 5,000$,which is great.Problem is,they put the ten names in the hat, pull a name one after the other and the last name wins the 5 grand.Only problem, only 9 names went into the draw,so the winner did not have a equal chance to be tossed,as the rest of them.Have you ever heard of any other of the big prizes going to any one out side of ontario? And when some one wins the car/s they try to give you a low ball figure of cash to buy it back, they don,t talk about that do they.Allot of strange things go on there, when you have 1500-over 2000 cars show up and venders paying out big money for a crappy parts area and the outragest cost of T-shirts and hats.Moparfest is the same crap over and over and over again, same bands, same crap.Instead of giving out 2 cars, offer 50-100 100$ gas cards, you want to see people buy tickets to that at 5$ a shot.Mrmopartech

I ran across this thread today and thought that I have something that might interest all with this problem. Come to Long Beach, MS at the Long Beach Marina and Yacht Club on Thursday Oct 11th. A truly FREE cruise with over 200 Mopars the last two years. Mopars at the Marina 9AM until?? Not only free entry but we give away jambalaya and drinks and chicken. We will sell you a tshirt if you want one or you can donate a little to help us do it again next year, but we do not care if you buy a shirt or donate a single nickel. We want you to be there, and have a good time. We are a bunch of guys just providing a fun day during Cruisin the Coast for the Mopars to get together. Just ask Moepar, he knows me. They call me Killer as in Killer Mopars. Go to killermopars.com for more info. If you want a shirt for 2012 the information is there. Just to let you know all profits from the shirts and all donations are spent on the following years event. And do me a favor, tell everyone you think might want to come to show up and pass a good time with some great people. www.killermopars.com

Something I learned long ago. If I don't like the place or the prices I don't go back. They don't have to change anything for me. The free market will take care of the problem.

Wow - what a lot of crap! sounds like sour grapes....

I think you'll find that this weekend at Moparfest we had a winner from Quebec for the Challenger (hope he lives next door to you!) and a winner from the States.... glad you weren"t there

Jon,your just another one how can,t see the light at the end of the tunnel and never wants too ask questions and make things right, you must be right beside your boss all day long and when he says crap, you ask how much and how high. One day you will go from the wrong side to the other side and seem some light, for now, keep the sun glasses on and stop bending over, mrmopartech

I do 4 shows a year.
Mopar Nats, Mopar Monster, Cruis-a-paloza in Cincy and another in here in town that is completely free.
I'm tired of paying to enter shows, to be insulted or treated bad because I dont own a corvette.
I stopped by a show yesterday, 1 Mopar in the whole group, a 65 Dart, was passed over for best Mopar and it was given to a old Willys Jeep.

I spent 5 years restoring my Dart and I can't tell you much money I spent doing it. I feel they should pay us to bring our cars to the shows. Just to get a cheap *** troply charge the people who comes to the shows If it was'nt for our cars there would not be any shows. I go to free cruises and that it .

Another gearhead and i started a cruise in several months ago flyers were handed out, posted on my facebook page and a automotive facebook page we have sat there every saturday from 5-8pm every night since may 2012 by ourselves with a few cars stopping by but we will keep trying.
Where is this at I might try to join you guys up there and could bring my club along too maybe.

My Car Show costs me about $400 a year, one part of bolts to my bumper, one part sticks to the windshield and the other goes in the glovebox :D Yep, Registration/Tags, Inspection and Insurance.

Though if I ever get around to getting "Collectible" Tags/Plates for my car I'll never have to register it again (A one time $50 Registration is good for life).

And I constantly get a valuable trophy... In the form of that huge grin you experience when a 340 rumbles to life :D It's kinda like viagra... "If you experience a grin for more than 4 hours, you must be driving a mopar." :burnout:

When I get the 6-71 Blown 340 dropped back into my '74 Duster I may never stop grinning, my face will permanently be frozen in that expression.

the money usually goes to a charity. Ask for a receipt to claim on your income tax .... If it does not go to charity ... no need to be there.

20 bucks is about all i would pay ...
