RIP Frank Mitchell

The news at the Nats is this, Frank Mitchell passed away this past week. Heart attack.
I know that a lot of folks didn't care for Frank. I knew Frank, I wasn't close to him but I've dealt him enough over the years to come to understand and respect him.
He could be a hard guy to deal with, but as he often said, he wasn't obliged to sell anyone anything at anytime. I learned a few thing from him along the way also.
One of which is if I give a certain someone money he'll certify my wife is mother Theresa.
For anyone expecting an estate sale, forget it. Frank sold the business out a few years ago. All the parts are still housed in Georgia. Franks name just won't be on them any more.

He was 64 years old. I have bought items from him in the past but he was always high priced.

Yes, his prices were some of the absolute highest in the business, but you got what you paid for. If he said something was NOS, it was. Lets face reality. No one makes a LOT of what he sold and he HAD it. If you needed a part for that Barrett Jackson level restoration, chances are, he had it. May he RIP.

I think he was selling parts before the internet when it wasn't so easy to find what you needed for an old Mopar. My Mom's Valiant got some brake parts from him years ago.

For my restoration I have become to know Frank well. He had a great knowledge and was always willing to try hard to help out a customer. As said if he had it the parts were NOS! The Mopar community has lost a great guy. RIP Frank!

Exactly. Especially for people in your shoes who don't need to crap around with takin a chance in some BS parts and then have to foot the bill again for shippin to another country. At least the business is still running. I wonder who owns it now. Does anybody know?

Never met Frank but have been over to the warehouse in fairmount and picked up some items.

Mike is running the show and the company is now called "AMS Obsolete". He has a ton of stuff and prices are still high, But as said NOS means NOS.

As said before, he was a tough bird to get along with. I told him several times, I'd never seen a hearse with a ball hitch on the back of it. His was no exception.
I imagine sometime this week, the reality is going to set in that Frank is gone down there in Georgia. I saw Mike friday at the Nats, he was disheveled. That dude may be in over his head. Good luck to him.

Don't know him, never dealt with him. But this is how it works: When something is for sale, there are two prices. 1) what its worth to the buyer 2) what its worth to the seller. The seller owns it, so his assessment is stands. If you don't like the price, go else where. People get mad because they look for ever, finally find it, then don't like the price. Buyers have two choices: 1) buy it.... or 2) keep looking.

evertime I needed nos parts I couldnot find I would purchase it from him and turn him onto a lot of high end leads he will be missed
