took the chopper out for a ride today. beautiful day, overcast, looks like it wants to rain and a nice balmy 60*. had to calibrate a new speedo...got done messing with it & was cruising down 291 near the gravel pit, the area where marmots are pretty common to see. well, there is one less of the little guys.......clipped him with the front wheel. that makes 6 critters I have hit over the years while out and about on 2 wheels. ops:

Got a yellow bellied marmot myself today. I swerved and didn't get him with a tire and thought I was lucky until he must have stuck his head up. I heard a little "dong" sound from underneath the vehicle and he was deader than a door nail

Even tho it's just part of the cycle of life I always feel a little pang of sorrow when I clip a critter on the road.

I clipped it in the head with the front wheel....if I had hit it more in the middle of its body we both may have been laying on the side of the road....
