Yes, 66 is Main Street in Barstow, Ca.

One of my trucks came from just outside of Barstow, CA, ( @Unconventional ), and we decided to drive a portion of Route 66 on the way home. Didn't take too long for me to think of Radiator Springs myself.

My dad was an engineer for Union Pacific and his usual freight train run was from Los Angeles to Yermo. He'd layover one night and then bring a return freight to LA the next day.

I lived or went to school in 3 outa the five and that was before we landed in Barstow
I tried to get on with Santa Fe RR, aced their mechanical aptitude test, was rejected by the affirmative action policy.
Their loss and it got me the heck outa the desert
