Does an RV (lets say a 1977 440 motorhome) have a firmer shifting valve body than what a normal 727 would have? I know other certain features are beefier, curious on the VB. Thanks in advance!

I believe all the valve bodies are the same. As you know you can set more or less pressure with the kickdown adjustment to specific need. Then the adjustable spring thing inside next to the shift linkage.

I set up the 4 bbl and kickdown here on the '89 318 Truck, wanted it to stay in gear longer ended up creating hard shifts.

Backed off the kickdown at the carb rod adjustment 2 full turns, then it shifted much more civilized.

The TransGo II is one of my favorite Valve Body Upgrades, solves problems, Pump Pumps in park, reroutes the flow patterns. Would do that to this Truck if I ever take the VB out, but it is working fine now so not going to mess with it.

I thought some of the performance cars had some differences, wasn't sure if a heavy heavy heavy dually camper would have had something as well.... I always have my kickdowns so when floored it's all the way back but the last 1/8 at the transmission lever.

I have never noticed any different in shift quality in Motorhomes
compared to any other 727.

However, the governor weights are different in different 727 which affects
the shift RPM but I never noticed any difference in shift quality there either.

50 or 60 years ago, I removed the accumulator spring and turned up the line pressure
on the valve body a few turns = that definitely made a difference in the shift quality.
I do not know if over 50,000 or 100,000 it would be detrimental and I have not done that
for years. These days I can afford a new valve body.

Thanks, yeah, I just happened to have a RV transmission and just wasn't aware if there was anything of an "upgrade". I pretty much figured it was doubtful
