So i pulled a head on my siezed up motor and the rust is a bit much for just breaking it free and getting it running. I'm not sure if I want to have it rebuilt or look for a good replacment. If I did replace it what do I need to look for that would bolt up to the 904 trans and stock motor mounts I dont want to be hunting down all kinds of parts to make an apples to oranges conversion plate. lol Let me hear some thoughts thanks, Dan

A '64-7 273 is the only engine that's a straight bolt-in. The next easiest would be a '67-9 273/318 which mainly just needs a special converter bushing for the crank.

318 will be a nice upgrade. Thats what I did when i could not find
a rebuildable 273.

If I were to have it rebuilt any of you NW Washington guys know a place to have it rebuilt? I'm north of Seattle and keeping the original set up seems kind of appealing to me if I can swing it $$$

Too bad there is some bad info in it........there were no externally balanced 318's or 225's from the factory!
