yeah, my brother had a '96 z28. They run decent. some models have more hp than others. I'm not super-up on my GM's, but i think his was supposed to run 14.2's, but he didn't take it to the strip.95 lt1
The 90 pounds you removed is from an area of the car that provides your traction. That's why plastic back windows, fiberglass trunk lids, and rear fiberglass bumpers are not the best choices unless you have a 4-link or adjustable suspension. Sometimes actually adding rear weight will make a car go faster even though it increases the overall weight of the vehicle.12.9's was full interior. We removed the rear seat now, because nobody ever sat back there and besides, the fold down rear seats are heavier than normal.
It should weigh about 3100- 3150 now by itself.

Hopefully it allows you to run faster, but I know a lot of example where guys slowed down removing rear weight.

A driver that can cruise on the highway and run into the 13's is a fun ride. I agree, very low 14's no helmet... better than a 13.9 with a helmet. (unless you have T-tops, then you'll where a helmet anyways LOL)93-97 LT1 275 hp

It's why I think if I get burned out enough on wrench'n, I'll probably own a Scat-Pak Challenger. 30 mpg, easy 12 second run, cruise 80 mph all day on the interstate, A/C, cruise control, blah blah blah and 180 mph top end (not that I would do that.. lol). Older I get, the better that all soundsWell crap I forgot about the t-tops...

Our track has TnT every Friday night. Unfortunetly, I work 2nd shift. So, I go on Saturdays when the bracket race for points happens. They have TnT - sometimes, other times they force me to run with Trophey. So, I usually get 3 runs because of time (or eliminated ... lol).Here during the summer we're pretty wide open for drag racing. Most any Wednesday night they run the 8th mile for points and anybody can participate at PIR. I guess Woodburn now has a Thursday night event where if you have license plates and drive in and drive out you can drag race. And most all summer long they have races on Saturday and Sunday and usually have a test and tune Lane for anybody who wants to do that. And then PIR usually Friday and Saturday nights has open test and tune or grudge match as they like to call it... That can be fun because if you go early lot of times there's not too many people there and I've went on nights when there's only 10 cars or less and we're just hot laughing completely going down the track at will..,
Yeah that's kind of the Wednesday night thing at PIR where they run only 8th Mile and it's for points or trophy and it's all tiered and all that... yeah, I always prefer a 1/4 (ours still is a 1/4 most days).... but ... getting more and more half-tracks. It's about 6 hours and about 75 - 100 bucks on a Saturday for me. Hour down, hour back, gas round trip and at the strip, a meal for my wife and I, entry fee. It's why many want me to make one change at a time and take it down per item, but it's just not realistic (i get their point though). I'm forced to trust my seat dyno over a few changes then take the car/truck down and see where we are...50 or $60 to get four or five eighth Mile passes all night long LOL... What a deal..
This is a good idea of why I've lost interest in drag racing. I love drag racing don't get me wrong but it's all the work it takes to get there get back the patients you have to have while you're there and good Lord the expense... It flat out boils down to bang for buck and I'm just not getting the bang for my buck out of this hobby... You toil and toil and spend hundreds if not thousands to get just seconds of fun spread out over a whole day out in the sun LOL or a whole evening... It's almost like renting a jet ski and how worth it it is... Exactly. It's why EVERY car I have is street friendly, and cruises the highway (drag truck is still streetable but the 4.30's .... ehhh). I get way more use from our classics by going to the burger joint through the country side. I still really enjoy the drag way but most of our fun is going places...... I think I would like to do one of those like Richard Petty driving schools where you get to take a race car out on the track....
Yeah I agree I've been converting the duster as you know and took the wild cam out put 354 gears in AC but still don't use it that much if at all. The 74 power wagon is the one as far as a classic we like to take out the most. But late last month when we had one nice day and I took the t-tops off the trans am and took my wife out for dinner she really liked that...Exactly. Cedar Falls is a 1/8 mile track ?? Looks like a good facility. I think Jeray racing raced there a lot? I could be wrong. ..... I've visited Earlville, but not raced there.Track clean up last weekend. Chassis Cert. this weekend. Test and tune the next 3 weekends. Everyone is hoping for warmer weather. It's in the 30's here today. New starting line and guardrails last year. New scoreboards this year.
