Secret Sauce to get old paper carburetor gaskets off?

What ys use or is there no Secret Sause? I have some that are really stuck on.

Have stuck on base gasket and bowl/metering block. But secondary glued on. So have to soak it.

I have to soak the carb to try and soften the glued on rear metering block.
Google had some sites give questionable options. One Chevy site says bench vise and large Channel Lock pylers

This is all assuming that you can get the carb apart.
I've got a 850 dp that a hammer can't get the bowls off of, let alone disassemble anything else.

Edit : bolted to an intake, neither a soft hammer, nor a hard hammer and aluminum drift would remove either bowl. I guess a sledge hammer is next.

I've got a 850 dp that a hammer can't get the bowls off of, let alone disassemble anything else.

Spray some Seafoam Deep Creep all around the joints where the gaskets are. Let it sit for a few days. Keep sprayin it. It'll come apart.

The bowl in front right off, metering plate too. Almost to easy. Rear bowl right off. Metering block no dice. Score is:
Carb 1
Hammer 0
Napa has new rubber replacements that screw on.
Was hoping with bowl off can take jets out and soak in something mild to loosen the metering gasket.
Wonder if hot water and dawn in a bucket would do anything. Carb is spotless inside. Crazy clean infact.

At least NAPA sells new ends for the hammer

Soak the partsl in mineral oil for 24 hours and work the off junk with a plastic scraper. That way the is no gouging and chunks taken off the mating surfaces.

Mineral Oil like you put on a cutting board? Or Mineral Sprits ( paint thinner) the Solvent?
Even down here way down in New Orleans the outside pipes are wrapped up. And rubber hoses are frozen stiff.

try to get it to expand a bit

Ok so slid by P-Diddys Place. He was not home to ask, but he had so much just lying around I just left an IOU! Test try on bowl gasket and base gasket.
Smells baby fresh.

So had um soaking in Da P-Diddy sauce. So far the mineral oil only did
Getting a little soft bet it would work in a week.
So will let soaking untill Creep shows up. Da baby oil is only a little creepy?

Secret sauce is upon assembly when putting back together use some chapstick on both sides of the gaskets . Next time it’s time to rebuild you’ll save half the time since you won’t have to spend much time on cleaning off old gasket material .

P Diddy oil. Now THAT was funny. lol Naw, I don't imagine it has THAT kind of penetration properties. LOL

Using a wire wheel or other abrasive will just exacerbate the underlying issue. And be careful not to use a solvent the will damage the aluminum.

Yeah cause we all know those blue "non stick" Holley gaskets ain't worth SNOT.

Don’t over torque the screws .
Let the gaskets do their job.
