Thanks Cliff, its finally starting to feel like i'm getting closer!

I hate trying to look for crap on this forum so i'm turning this also into my one stop info-center. Thinking ahead a couple of steps, upgrading and rewiring the lighting situation is going to be a biggie, so here is my lighting thread list(thanks to slantsixdan's vast experience and knowledge) These are all his posts and links, who better to get information from than the man who engineers it for a living!

He's got enough information in there to be quite a long read if you actually want to understand what hes talking about, well worth the time.

Thanks X for finding these links.

No problem Cliff, thanks for the motivation, I needed to re-find the info anyway lol

Got torsion bars out, making a note while I can still remember the number 88L&R

So yanked out the K and the suspension today, cleaned up the frame rails and underside of cowl some more, still have a lot more to go.

Test fit the front clip, and its a nogo for doing it in one piece. So i'll have to pull the firewall off and put it on first, than put the rest of the front clip on :(

Yesterdays update, today I got to spend all day fixing the pellet stove today.

Did a bunch of clean up, still have another day or 2 to put into it, but slowly getting there....

AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH It's innards are showing. Looking good X

My car has a pair of the 7" Cibie' H4 lamps w/ city lights and Osram 85/80 bulbs from Daniel as well as a relay kit I picked up from Painless some years back. In addition I replaced all the bulbs and added a Hella LED 3rd brake light from Daniel. The city lights are cool - not necessarily a must have. The brights make driving down the road next to the creek seem like daylight, when I touch the brakes the third brake light lights up everything behind me. A lot better than what used to be in the car.

Here is a few pictures I took when I did the install 5 years ago.

Thanks for the pics! :)
Your right if the top pic is the lows, they didn't make much of an improvement, the highs however....

The top pic is the "city light", it is a seperate small bulb in the bottom of the lamp housing. It is for parking lots and other situations where you need to be seen but do not need headlights to see. The low beam is pretty bright and the cut off is quite crisp. Good stuff.

If you dont mind me asking how much did the headlight set up set you back?

Nice, I have a 3 rd brake lamp in my notchback too. What fixture did you use there ?

So got the cowl and A-pillars cleaned up and primed them with self etching primer. Have about half the front sub-frame to do, already did the front of it. Hopefully be ready to get the firewall mounted and than the front clip soon.

Finished cleaning all the metal up front and priming it, i'll take some pics and post em when I get back from my appointment this evening. Pulled the firewall off the front clip and test fit it. Forgot what it looked like with a firewall :D
Started cleaning up the firewall next up is to start fitting, filling in holes and getting it ready to go in.

Ok took me too long, my camera took a crap on me not sure how im gonna replace it yet, these are from my iPhone and I apologize we all know the iPhone has crap for a camera.

Today finished cleaning up the firewall, started dolly'ing it out. Tomorrow im going to start welding it up, final fitting and hopefully in the next day or 2 have it ready to go in.
