Yikes! When I started this project 3 1/2 years ago. I remember seeing shifter boots and bezels for $20 to $30. I spent so much time researching and collecting parts for the brakes, drive train, suspension, etc., I figured "shifter boot ! ? I can get one o' those later. It's just a rubber piece." Now the car's running, and I'm getting the interior done, shifter boots are $60 and $80. I really have a hard time paying that much for a molded rubber part that probably costs $3 or $4 (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) to manufacture. I really don't care about NOS or Restoration parts for something like this. Does anyone out there know where I can get something that fits and functions for a '67 Dart with a four speed, A-833 tranny & Hurst shifter? Maybe a non-original, after-market, reproduction rubber piece for $20 or $30?

Sometimes you got to bite the bullet on these dam cars. Check Ebay for a deal.

I used a Mr. Gasket piece from Advanced Auto, for the exact same reasons. I don't have a console, so I just needed something to fill the gaping hole in the floor. The boot fits well and I have received a lot of complements on it.

I might go with a factory piece or a console in the future, but for $15 or $20, I couldn't beat it.

Thanks, as always for the feedback. If you look at the gallery pics of my Dart, you can tell I've "bitten some bullets" along the way. I don't mind spending the money if I feel like I'm getting some value. I felt like I really needed the pistons I bought, and the machine work I paid for, so I paid whatever it took. My car is not OEM though. I don't think I need an $80 shift boot - just one that looks neat and separates the interior from the exterior. I'm sure at least one of the suggestions offered will work for me. Thanks again to all.
