I have a 64 valiant push button drive . I was wondering if anyone makes new shift cables

Imperial Services; however, They do not sell direct anymore. I think they're affiliated with Schumaker (sp?) conversion motor mounts now.

Thanks. I looked at them both cables would cost about 500.00 dose anyone know if the cables from my slant 6 would work they are in good shape thanks again

It would help to know from what vehicle/transmission you want to swap into the 64 push button transmission

The car I have is a 64 valiant two door post with slant 6 pushbutton drive I'm putting a 318 eng in it the trans that I'm going to use is from a 64 valiant convertible . one cable has been burnt on the exhaust and the other is broken at the shifter . my cables on the slant 6 is perfect I just don't know if they will fit the v8 trans

I would say they should work since both are 904's. I can't see any reason why they won't work.

Thanks I was going off of the part numbers from imperial services they are different from v8 to slant 6

The rubber housing being burnt by the slant exhaust is common. I fixed mine w/ rubber hose & covered w/ silicone-fiberglass heat sleeve so it won't recur (post w/ photos several years ago). The cable locations in the two cable-shift 904's should be the same, so "should work", unless your V-8 exhaust pipe interferes.

I think all 318's had the later (~1968+) larger torque converter register hole in the end of the crank, so you probably need the custom filler ring made that. Without it, your torque converter can wobble around and cause problems. Check TorqueFlite Patty and many posts here.

I have a 64 Barracuda V8 Car.

So the V8 64 Cable is a lot longer for the shifter, why I don't know, I used a /6 and it works great. Park brake cable is about the same length.

Remember 65 cables may work but remember they where column and console shift, don't know if a console cable is long enough.

Imperial Services has gone out of business......

Google "TorqureFlite Pat" on Ebay, he does rebuild kits, cables everything for the early transmissions, He will even talk you through removing the cables over the phone.
