So I know fed ex and ups have gone up so are there cheaper and easier ways to ship a car hood and big items??

I have a front end listed and of course everyone who wants it, is on the other side of the universe.

What's the best way to get big car parts moved.....

I have not shipped a hood but I have sold doors and fenders....and shipped them with Greyhound!
Fastenal is another option.

Last time i shipped a big item it was a Dart fender on Greyhound
It was 80 bucks it was the cheapest I could find
A hood would probably be twice that
The next best was 250 for truck freight !!

Perhaps ask a local person who is attending Carlisle to haul the parts and coordinate a pickup at the show.
I frequently respond to “Car Show Threads” stating that I’m in and can haul parts to and from the show with my MegaCab.
I’ve delivered parts to Old Man Ray, while we didn’t discuss a delivery fee, he paid me the full amount that VFN FiberGlass would’ve charged him. He saved on their insane crating and shipping fees.

Well I'm having to make a road trip in a couple of weeks because I need some big parts brought from GA back to IL. Not looking forward to all of that windshield time. About half that distance would be a cool weekend trip.
Hell, I spent $90 on shipping alone to send a damn can to Oregon cams and back, for $80 worth of regrind services.... Ridiculous.

Several years ago I sent a pair of 68 barracuda doors via greyhound, wasn't bad at the time, dunno what they'd charge today.
I might be going down for a pair of rust free bedsides for an 80s truck. I dunno why the guy cut the bed apart, and didn't just sell it as complete.

I have shipped greyhound before. It is very reasonable, but can take awhile. You have to take and pick your shipments at a terminal.

I have used fastenal before as well and it worked out well. However last time i tried, prices went way up.

The last time my son tried fastenal they "forgot" to call him for over a week to say his trans was sitting there in the way on our end.

I had items shipped to my by greyhound before like tires and fenders but it’s been awhile....a hood is probably too big for that. I’d see fastenal can ship but you will have to pallet it all up for them. I think my 66 fender was $35 to ship greyhound but that was 15 years ago....but they were by far the cheapest
