1968 Barracuda 340 Formula S. I am going to do away with the rear air shocks by adding another secondary leaf in the rear spring packs, to increase rear tire/fender clearance. What does the brain trust recommend for shocks on all 4 corners. Not a drag racer or a corner carver, just a nice stock street cruiser.

I bought cheap KYB for my wife's car. Worked well. So bought some on sale at Amazon and used my points so we're cheap. Replaced gas from charged Monroe and Gabriel they were not harsh.
If not KYB get Monroe-Gabriel Gas from whomever has best cost.
Going to go hide under a from KYB haters

I had KYBs all around for years.
Bilstien, and bigger torsion bars were one of, if not the, best suspension mod.

you're not gonna wanna hear it, but Bilstien's take the cake hands down. yes, they WAY more expensive but think of it as investment. for a one time price you get a great shock that will perform very very well no matter what t-bars you decided to run in the future.

avoid kyb, they're hot garbage.

i've had good luck with sachs. obviously parts store usual suspects like gabriel or monroes are okay-ish but don't expect any longevity out of them any more.

WARNING: if ordering these shocks make sure you know your upper stud OD, then call Kanter/PST, have them open an actual box and confirm the upper bushing ID, and send the correct bushings if needed.

I would even ask them to just send the correct shock with the correct bushings.
These are not cheap and only sold through them and RCD.
You shouldn't have to expend additional time & labor.

A Known Issue we now know they've know about, yet make excuses and fail to be proactive.

None of the sleeves provided fit either.

Hope this helps. Enjoy the day!

@BergmanAutoCraft also sells Bilstein RCD’s, and I’m sure Peter is aware of the bushing diameter deal.

All these threads tell you is who actually drives their cars and who understands what shocks are actually supposed to do.

I hate all bad shocks, not just KYB’s. KYB’s just happen to be terrible.

does anyone sell just the sleeves for the Bilsteins ?
Im assuming the ones I have will be incorrect since i had to drill out the rubber bushings to make them the right size.
part number for the front and back sleeves if you have it... thanks Rich
